Province directs $150M to Indigenous achievement, student awards, research, and facilities
Earlier this month, the Manitoba government announced it will expand scholarships, bursaries, and fellowships, fund medical, engineering, and environmental research, and renovate facilities at the University of Manitoba, as part of its $150 million contribution to the university's Front and Centre campaign. “This is not simply an investment in the U of M,“ said David Barnard, president and vice-chancellor, University of Manitoba. “It's an investment in the future prosperity of the province and its people.“
Specifically, the province will expand undergraduate scholarships, bursaries, and Indigenous outreach; establish teaching and research chairs; renew classrooms, libraries, and laboratories; and help build the InterProfessional Health Education Complex on the Bannatyne campus.
