February 15, 2018 marks one year out from the 2019 Canada Winter Games being held in Red Deer, Alberta. Featuring 19 sports, over 150 events and a major arts and cultural festival, the 2019 Canada Winter Games will welcome up to 3,600 athletes, managers and coaches and more than 20,000 visitors. In Canada, 82% of people know a child who can't participate in organized sport due to cost. KidSport wants to change these statistics, and on Thursday, February 22^nd the Canada Games Sport for Life Centre will be hosting Great-West Life presents: Take a Class for KidSport. Register as a group or individual for the classes and times that work best, and our skilled instructors will lead you through fitness classes for all levels, ranging from spin to strength training, yoga, TRX, and more.

Sport Manitoba is seeking enthusiastic, experienced people to serve as volunteer Team Manitoba Mission Staff for the upcoming 2019 Western Canada Summer Games in Swift Current and the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer. As part of Team Manitoba, you will lead in helping our province's athletes have the experience of a lifetime at Canada's premier multi-sport event. Thompson now joins a growing list of communities across Manitoba building a legacy through Hydro's partnership with Sport Manitoba - a relationship that extends back over 20 years. Hydro and the Games have partnered for past Games in Morden, Gimli, Virden, The Pas/OCN, Dauphin, Beausejour, Carman, Portage la Prairie, Swan Valley, Morden/Stanley/Winkler, and most recently Steinbach in 2016.
