The 2018 Manitoba Winter Games powered by Manitoba Hydro are less than four months away! The Manitoba Games are the province's largest ongoing multi-sport program bringing together participants from across the province. In just a short time, as many as 7,500 athletes, coaches and officials will arrive in Thompson to take part in the excitement of the Games.

The city of Thompson is abuzz preparing to host the 2018 Manitoba Games. Many of the city's sport venues will undergo major physical upgrades for the 2018 Winter Games. This includes: developing electronic retractable bleachers in the Gordon Beard Arena; access to portable tip and roll bleachers for the community; upgrades to the curling club scoreboard; and new equipment to maintain trails at Mystery Mountain. These upgrades will attract new and exciting programs to the area, enhancing the sporting experience in Thompson for years to come.

Sport Manitoba is hosting a Regional Testing Combine in Steinbach on December 2, 2017 from 1-4pm. It's open to athletes of ANY level and sport. Coaches, you can get testing done for your entire team! This will be at a low cost and results will be reviewed by sport performance experts. Use this opportunity to efficiently have your athletes' baseline testing done for speed, agility, strength & power.
