Downtown Winnipeg BIZ: Mingle - Your guide to everything downtown

Member Spotlight: June Home Supply

250 Kennedy St. #2

photo

Nestled beside Thom Bargen Coffee & Tea on Kennedy, you’ll find an Instagram-worthy, Mediterranean-inspired, stunningly-designed room-within-a-room specialty store. Functional pieces that foster an idea of simplicity and beauty line the geometric recessed wall shelves.

Joël and Danielle Cyr started June Home Supply online as a way to pursue more meaningful work. What started off as a side project, quickly grew into what is now an internationally-recognized boutique. Shop the store online or in person for everything from soaps, socks, stools & scarves to pots, pans, baskets and brushes.

The curated collection of home and lifestyle products is sourced from small-scale producers around the world. The mix of vintage and new pieces in the shop create a uniqueness that is welcoming and warm while still achieving a modern look and feel.

They’ve been featured in international publications like Style At Home, Better Homes & Gardens and Gwyneth Paltrow’s modern lifestyle brand company, goop. This downtown gem is soon to become the go-to for gifts and functional home wares.

New places to chill out downtown

NOW – until it melts

There's snow place like home graphic

Just a couple of minutes from the Winnipeg Foundation Centennial River Walk, you’ll find a little piece of home. Local artists have carved snow sculptures around downtown but they’re different than the large ones you’re used to seeing around Winnipeg during Festival du Voyageur – they’re snowfas!

Sofas made of snow (snowfas) are the perfect spot to sit and drink a cup of coffee, eat a doughnut and take in the downtown sights. There’s Snow Place Like Home reminds you that you don’t have to look much further than your own backyard to find something cool. Grab a seat before they melt.

Thank you to Councillor Sherri Rollins and the City of Winnipeg Wellness Grant for helping to make this happen.

Don’t forget to use #FindItDowntown when you share your photos on social media.

Warming Huts v. 2021 features a winning Winnipeg design

NOW - until the ice starts to melt

Something new popped up where the two rivers meet.

Warming Huts v. 2021 features outdoor attractions that are out of this world and close to home. This is the 11th year The Forks has asked for submissions from around the world and more than 150 international artists and architecture groups competed.

This year, one of the winning submissions is from Winnipeg company, AtLRG Architecture Inc. Hot Landing (in the middle of the image) extends a warm welcome to visitors from outer space while simultaneously looking familiar and otherworldly.

This year there’s a lot to look at and even a few interactive pieces that won’t stick around after the snow melts. Get down to see them before they are gone!
