BDC Capital Bridge Financing Program

BDC Capital Bridge Financing Program

Canadian start-ups may get matching funds from BDC for a current financing round being raised through qualified existing and/or new investors. To be eligible, companies must be Canadian, backed by a qualified venture capital firm, have raised at least $500,000 in external capital before applying for the program, and be specifically impacted by COVID-19.

Co-Lending Program for Small and Medium Enterprises

Co-Lending Program for Small and Medium Enterprises

BDC is working together with financial institutions to co-lend term loans to SME's for operational cash flow requirements. Eligible businesses may obtain incremental credit amounts up to $12.5 million. Postpone principal payments for up to 12 months if you need additional breathing room. Available until or before June 2021

Highly Affected Sectors Credit Availability Program (HASCAP)

Small or medium sized businesses that have seen their revenue decrease by 50% or more can apply for a loan ranging from $25,000 to $1 million. The loan must be used for continuing or resuming operations .

BDC is working together with financial institutions to co-manage loans ranging between $12.5 million and $60 million each, available until or before June 2021. These loans are provided jointly by BDC and your primary financial institution.

Canadian Emergency Business Account (under BCAP)

Canadian Emergency Business Account (under BCAP)

This $55 billion program provides interest-free loans of up to $60,000 to small businesses and not-for-profits.

Repaying the balance of the loan on or before December 31, 2022 will result in loan forgiveness of 33 percent (up to $20,000).

Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy

Canadian businesses and charities with reduced revenue during the COVID-19 pandemic may be eligible for a subsidy to cover part of their commercial rent or property expenses until June 2021. Current application window closes May 20, 2021. Next application window opens June 6, 2021

Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS)

Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS)

Up to a 75% wage subsidy for employers who have lost at least 15% of their business in March, or 30% in April to June. Up to a 60% wage subsidy for employers who have experienced any revenue drop in July to November.

Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB)

Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB)

A taxable benefit of of $500 per week (available in two-week periods) for up to 26 weeks, effective September 27, 2020 until September 25, 2021. Available to those who have stopped working and who are not eligible for EI, or had their employment/self-employment income reduced by at least 50% due to COVID-19.

Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit (CRSB)

Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit (CRSB)

A taxable benefit of $500 per week, for up to two weeks (available in two one-week periods), effective September 27, 2020 until September 25, 2021. Available to those who are unable to work becasue they contracted COVID-19, self-isolated for reasons related to COVID-19, or have underlying conditions, are undergoing treatments or have contracted other sicknesses that will make them more susceptible to COVID-19. Workers will not be required to have a medical certificate to qualify for the benefit. Workers could not claim the Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit and receive other paid sick leave for the same benefit period.

Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit (CRCB)

A taxable benefit of $500 per week, for eligible workers, effective September 27, 2020 until September 25, 2021. Households can apply for up to 26 weeks, available in one-week periods. Available to those who need to provide care to children or support family members who require supervision. If two or more persons reside in the same household, the benefit can be shared among eligible workers but only one of them may be paid a CRCB for any particular week.
