Pitch'Day just got even better for Manitobans!

With the growth of Pitch'Day, we've made a few changes to cater to increasing numbers of applicants.

Now, ALL qualifying applicants will have the chance to deliver their pitch to experts in a new Preliminary Pitch'Day Round to be held on Monday, November 12, 2015 at Red River College.
The top 15 pitches from the Preliminary Round will make it to the Finals at Pitch'Day on Nov. 18, 2015 at the RBC Convention Centre.

Pitch'Day is Manitoba's foremost quick pitch competition, where hustling entrepreneurs, academic innovators, and businesses with innovative new ideas come to pitch, validate, connect, and win awesome prizes!

Cash Prizes: 1st - $7,500, 2nd - $2,500; Peoples' Choice - $1,000, and $500 each for Best Student Pitch, Best Researchers Pitch, Best Technology Pitch, and Best Social Innovation Pitch (NEW!)

Crowdfunding a new source of capital for startups

Martin Cash shares news that the Manitoba Securities Commission is now sanctioning structured startup crowdfunding portals. The process is designed to make it much easier for companies to raise up to $250,000 from the general public with each individual limited to a maximum of $1,500 investment per offering.

Wolf Trax Inc. and Manitoba Harvest Hemp Foods

In case you missed it: Strong execution key to achieving blockbuster exits for Manitoba companies.

Two recent deals involving Manitoba-based companies in the agriculture (ag) sector have captured the attention of venture capital firms across the globe. Manitoba Harvest Hemp Foods sold for $132.5 million to Connecticut-based Compass Diversified Holdings. Wolf Trax Inc. was acquired by Compass Minerals for $95 million.
