Ramp Up Weekend 8 taps into a wealth of new entrepreneurial talent, but veteran traps top spot with TrapTap
Ramp Up Weekend (RUW) 8 presented by Innovate Manitoba was a clear success by all measures, with over 60 participants, most of whom had never before participated in Startup Winnipeg's semi-annual event that unites hustlers, hipsters, and hackers to create businesses in 55 hours.
"I had the pleasure, once again of helping kick off the weekend, as well as helping close it," said Brent Wennekes, vice president of Innovate Manitoba. "I was seriously impressed, not only with the ideas and pitches presented, but with the sheer amount of new faces at the event, as well as the excitement and energy that was sustained by the group throughout."
Congratulations to the winners!
1ST PLACE: TrapTap, founded by Bryce North
2nd PLACE: TruckMate, founded by Blake Sabeski
Best Prototype: Geofy, founded by Michael Farris
