Launch'Pad Bootcamp 2015 cohort raises the bar for Manitoba startups

LaunchPad

Top six hit their runway in preparation for Lift'Off

It appears Manitoba is poised to continue to shake up the national startup scene with the graduation of its 'strongest overall Launch'Pad Bootcamp cohort to date'.

"With the quality and talent of the entrepreneurs at this Bootcamp, we could have easily have been running it in virtually any other region in the world," said Jeff Amerine, a serial entrepreneur and angel investor who currently sits on the board/advises eight companies, and is director, Technology Ventures at the University of Arkansas, and Adjunct Faculty at the Walton College of Business.

A total of 12 startups participated in the intensive 3.5 day Bootcamp led by Randy Thompson, founder of VA Angels and supported by Permjot Valia, a startup sales and marketing expert from London and founder of MentorCamp, along with Amerine.

A key theme over the weekend was just how serious the group of entrepreneurs were. Dustin Refvik, a second time Launch'Pad Bootcamper agreed, saying "It was a really tough cohort this year. You could tell that everyone in the room was invested in the success of their business and came with the intention of moving on to Venture'Challenge at Lift'Off."
