Sports Stars of the Week

Congratulations to Team Manitoba Softball and twins Ashleigh and Jon Laube from Team Manitoba Male and Female Volleyball who were featured on CTV's Sport Star of the Week in June. The athletes have been training hard in the gym and on the diamond leading up to the 2017 Canada Summer Games. Come cheer them on as they strive to bring home a medal this summer.

Alumni Success at 2017 NHL Draft

Hockey Manitoba

Hockey Manitoba has been using the Manitoba Games as part of their performance pathway to the Canada Winter Games for years. Five of Team Manitoba's 2015 Canada Winter Games Alumni were part of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, June 23-24, 2017. Congratulations and good luck to Cody Glass (6th), Josh Brook (56th), Stelio Mattheos (73rd), Nick Henry (94th) and Brett Davis (163rd) this fall!

Manitoba & Canada Games Alumni Takes Home Gold

Tyler Mislawchuk

Tyler Mislawchuk has been extremely successful in the triathlon world. Since 2008, he has made his way from the Manitoba Games to Western Canada Games, Canada Games, Pan American Games, Olympics and recently won gold at the Canadian Triathlon Championship. To follow up, Tyler has been named to Canada's team for the 2017 Mixed Team Relay World Championships taking place this July in Germany. Huge congratulations to our decorated Alumni and good luck at your next competition!

In 2012, Taylor Boughton represented Eastman at the Manitoba Games in soccer. This summer she is competing at the 2017 Canada Summer Games for Team Manitoba in female volleyball. Lasting Legacies from the 2017 Canada Summer Games

Canada Games Sport for Life Centre

Team Manitoba, along with the province of Manitoba, will be benefiting from the 2017 Canada Summer Games legacies for years to come. The 2017 Host Society has invested over $8 million in new and enhanced sport facilities, with Sport Manitoba's Canada Games Sport for Life Centre being a key legacy piece. Check out the venues that will be used for competition during the Games as well as the construction highlights of the Canada Games Sport for Life Centre.
